Best Video Game Music For Studying – Part 2

Hey everyone, we’re back! (In case you missed it, part 1 is here) So let’s not waste any time, and dive right into number 6!

6. Journey

Journey’s OST is transcendent.

Back in the old days, journeys were long and difficult, but definitely worth it. They mean nothing to the world at large, but everything to the person journeying. That’s the feeling I get from this soundtrack: a feeling of introspection, reflection, and importance. The music is exquisite, but never distracts you.

7. Streets of Rage 2

Streets of Rage 2 is here to provide this list with some upbeat tunes! SoR2’s soundtrack consists of a lot of techno and electronic dance, the kind of music you wouldn’t be surprised to hear in a club. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more electrifying, look no further!

8. Child of Light

Ah, my love. If you’ve been following Cairo Contra, you’ll know that I wrote an article before about Child of Light. The whole game itself is relaxing, so obviously, the music is going to match that. The epic orchestral sounds make for very emotional pieces. It always helps me push through whatever work I am doing.

9. Undertale

Undertale’s soundtrack is fantastic; one of the best I’ve ever heard. I have spent many long hours listening to this soundtrack, and it is still as good as the first time I heard it. Be aware, however, that some track titles have spoilers in them. I would recommend playing the game before listening, but then, I recommend playing the game in any and all cases.

10.Kingdom Hearts

Well, do I even need to introduce this game?

Kingdom Hearts was huge when it first came out, is huge now, and will probably continue to be huge in the foreseeable future. With nine games and counting, Kingdom Hearts has an impressive selection of tracks to listen to, and an even larger selection of covers. No need to feel overwhelmed, though! Out of all the games and soundtrack albums, I would most recommend the Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts album. As the title suggests, it’s a selection of the series’ best music played on the piano.

That’s all of them!

About Sarah Eldahan

I'm just a college student trying to survive life in Cairo. When not doing college work, I can be found trying to understand web design, watching writing-advice videos, and reading fanfiction (it's my guilty pleasure, shhhh). I prefer staring at walls to studying, which makes student life predictably hard. I'll be writing for the Food and Gaming sections, so be sure to check that out! Other than that, I'm loud, funny, and, when there's nothing better to do, 100% daydreaming.
