Hello everyone! Infusion with fashion is back; I’ll be your guide this week to interpreting the sophisticated world of fashion runways and the likes to everyday, real outfits.
As summer comes to an end on the calendar and places around the world are cooling down; we’re left to drizzle in the heat & current incidents here in Cairo. So I’ve been looking through Resort collections and I came by the Dior collection by no other than their new creative director & designer Raf Simons. Did I mention I’m in love with this guy’s fine taste? Regardless of his stubbornness when it comes to his choice of models; he’s definitely bringing back something glamorous & edgy to the Dior house. His first Resort collection for Dior was a pleasing blend of textures & trends- lace, sheer & bold colors! Can anyone complain? I was happy to see a lot of looks that could be incorporated to fun summer internship/job appropriate outfits & other casual summer fun looks. Want to see how? Read on!
1. Modern LBD
This look is an interesting interpretation of the everlasting classic lbd, I like how the lace keeps it sophisticated yet the zipper tones it down for casual wear. It’s definitely a classy look that can be taken anywhere from the office to a day out.
Get the look:
Recreate this outfit by pairing a lbd with a lace top, pick a lbd with a zipper like the dress above which could be easily slid a few inches down to reveal more of the lace top, or you could go for a lace top with a higher neckline to have the lace peek through any lbd without the need for a zipper. If you’re not the mix & match type, or you prefer the asymmetrical touch in the outfit, you could always go for a lbd that combines lace & asymmetry in one go. Add these pumps with minor yet unique detailing to add edge to the outfit.
2. Bold Colors
Colored pants have been around for a while, but this outfit takes it to a whole new level of sophisticated chic. It also shows you don’t have to show much skin to stay trendy & cool in summer.
Get the Look:
For this outfits, start by paring a pair of colored pants – in this case I chose red since I couldn’t find orange- with a white blouse with structured shoulders & v-neckline. A neutral two-toned pair of heels & bag adds interest to the outfit without overwhelming it.
3. Summer Dress
This look combines all the summer trends so effortlessly- sheer, color, asymmetry- it’s hard not to fall in love.
Get the look:
This runway look inspired to create not only one outfit but two. For a night out with friends go for a asymmetrical monochrome dress, and add hints of bold colors like these blue shoes & yellow clutch. For a more work appropriate environment, go for a multi-toned shift dress, play it safe with black pumps but add a bit of excitement with a large yellow bag.
What do you think of the collection? Are you a fan of Dior? What do you think of their new designer? Which look is your favorite? Would you wear any of these outfits? Which designers would you like to see featured here next? Leave a comment & tell me what you think!
