V-day will speak fashion this year (hopefully, without an outburst of red!)
V-day will speak fashion this year (hopefully, without an outburst of red!)

Valentine’s is around the corner and some seem in the mood to celebrate – I’m not a V-day person myself – but some of you anxiously await for that day so, here I am writing about fashion fit for Valentine’s Day! I was skimming through Autumn/Winter fashion runways when I came across Akris. In case you haven’t heard of the brand, it’s Swiss and quite famous for its effortless, elegant designs. This collection caught my eye as being quite feminine with a touch of toughness. It was inspired by non-other than the famous crime couple Bonnie & Clyde. Read on to see how you can grab a super-stylish Swiss inspired outfit for V-day.

1.     The All Red

Here the all red is proven to be elegant and chic by pairing together different shades of red, creating a stylish outfit for the day of red!

I chose this look since some like to go all red on V-day, but there’s no need to be an eyesore while you’re at it. Here, we recreate the runway outfit by paring a bright red overlarge sweater on maroon pants. Pink is considered a range of red (but that’s a rule you need to be very cautious with), so we added a light pink beret and added beige booties to complete the look.

2.     Bonnie Femininity

Dangerous yet stylish!
Dangerous yet stylish!

We love how this outfit is so simple yet so elegant. It’s a very close imitation to Bonnie Parker’s (of Bonnie & Clyde) late 1920’s style. From the beret to the pleated skirt, it simply hints heavily to the classic yet bad-ass style of the criminal legend.

A skirt similar in shape and style to the runway version, a plain white jumper with a black leather jacket to recreate the tough elegant look, grey belt, tights, beige booties, the neck scarf and beret.

If you’re the kind of girl who wants to look feminine on V-day but without joining the red crowd, this one’s for you. We opted for a skirt that is similar in shape and style to the runway version. Add a plain white jumper with a black leather jacket to recreate the tough elegant look. Being the lady you are there’s no need to remind you to wear tights in winter! We stuck to the shoe minimalism that was used on the runway. Last but not least, add the neck scarf and beret to complete this lady like outfit.

3.     The Clyde

The Clyde look = lots of leather!
The Clyde look = lots of black!

Clyde might have not worn a beret – neither has he worn leather for that matter – but this masculine inspired outfit might have come from his side of the romantic couple. The black dominance and androgynous note results in a sleek fashion forward casual look.

A pair of grey pants with a basic turtle neck top, this long leather jacket with suede sleeves, a tough belt, the signature beret and neutral booties.

If you’re not one to celebrate V-day –like me- or maybe you just don’t like to dress for the occasion, this one’s for you. For this ensemble, I started by pairing a pair of grey pants with a basic turtle neck top. This long leather jacket with suede sleeves will give you a similar look. Add the finishing touches with a tough belt and don’t forget the signature beret and neutral booties.
